Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is not just a social issue, it’s a systemic challenge that undermines agricultural value chains.
In rural and isolated areas, GBV threatens women’s safety, limits their economic participation, and weakens food security. When women cannot work safely, entire communities lose resilience, and businesses lose productivity. Climate resilience strategies that overlook gendered risks leave communities exposed and women vulnerable.
Ending GBV is essential for building equitable, sustainable, and climate-resilient agri-food systems; and it’s not only a human rights imperative, but also central to climate adaptation and economic stability.
The good news? Solutions work. Programs like the Women’s Safety Accelerator Fund (WSAF) demonstrate that addressing GBV can enhance productivity and strengthen workforce morale and brand reputation. Safe, inclusive workplaces aren’t just good ethics, they’re smart business.

Join us on Thursday, October 31st at 10am EDT, as Dmytro (Dima) Mykhaylenko, Senior Officer, Global Capacity Development at Pact, joins the M&E Thursday Talks to lead a discussion on “Applying Network Analysis to Improve Program Impact and Sustainability.”
Network strengthening has become an increasingly important element of capacity development over the past decade. Pact has developed a comprehensive methodology to analyze the interconnections among those groups - Organizational Network Analysis (ONA). Dima will explain how Pact’s ONA is more than a diagnostic tool, it is an approach to improving program impact and sustainability.
We will explore how Pact has practically applied ONA to international development, specifically with local systems, community groups, and government agencies. Dima will also illustrate how Pact’s ONA is designed to expand possibilities and empower a network to become stronger, which enables network members to visualize, analyze, and monitor patterns of collaboration and information flows between individuals and organizations.
Participants will learn how the ONA can be used to measure the strength and composition of their own networks, and why it’s important to fully understand and utilize these connections.
